Barton Creek Greenbelt Letterbox
Location: Austin TX, Travis county
Placed: July 12, 2002
By: The Brown Knight
Difficulty: Kid friendly, but beware of critters, poison ivy and thorny
vines off trail

Go to the Loop 360 access to Barton Creek Greenbelt. Park in the
trailhead parking lot. Follow the trail to the first "intersection".
Take the trial to the right heading east. Continue to a scenic spot and
enjoy a northeast view from a log "bench". Then continue on the trail
heading east across a small wooden bridge. From the first
"intersection" after the bridge, take the trail to the right heading
west. Walk past the caution sign "Area Closed for Revegetation".
(Please don't go in this area. Stay on the path.) From the center of
the next "intersection" at a heading of about 65 stands a very large,
double-trunk oak tree about 45 ft. away, off trail. Walk carefully
around thorny vines. At the base of this majestic oak under leaves and
rocks is hidden the Barton Creek Greenbelt Letterbox.
